1recordaday: Blink 182- Enema Of The State (coke bottle clear /300) In my eyes there are two modern day godfathers of pop-punk; New Found Glory and Blink-182. With Blinks commercial success I suppose you could call them the front-runners in this situation. Either way, this album broke them in to the mainstream in the best way possible. With a myriad of singles that never get old, this album was yet another that got me through my Jr. High (middle school) years. Adams song was my jam for a long time, and going though the shit that most young kids go though, I always related to the theme of loneliness and ultimately picking yourself right back up.  Sure this also had some straight up goofy songs, but that’s what youth is, isn’t it, a mixture of embarrassing, sad, and lonely moments? Very few albums are as timeless as “Enema…” I can always revert back to this album during the summer (or any time, really) when I want to ignore the fact that I’m 25 and my youth is slowly dwindling…
